sherri + alex :: wedding

sherri and alex have one of the cutest ‘how we met’ stories. both counselors at a youth christian camp, they started hanging out. singing, praising the lord, talking about life, its like a movie. i can just see them starring at eachother from across the room full of kids singing and smiling at eachother as they sing. it was one of those … i had no idea he liked me and same thing is what alex said. instead of asking sherri out on a date, he asked her to meet his family. nothing like jumping right in. sherri then kinda knew he must have some kind of feelings for her with such a huge step right away. as the summer flew by they became closer and closer and next thing you know, they are in a long distance relationship as both go back to college in the fall.

a short time later, they find themselves back at camp geneva in holland, mi where they were suppose to just eat pizza on the steps but alex was very pushy to go down on the beach … because he had a plan. after he popped the question and sherri of course said YES the planning began. i had grown up with sherri but we had become disconnected over the years and fortunately she somehow found out that i was a wedding photographer. i had such a great time hearing their stories and capturing their love at their engagement session, such a fun couple.

their wedding ceremony was held at my childhood church, forest grove reformed. i grew up just down the road from this church and attended it every sunday growing up. oh the memories. i absolutely loved shooting this wedding because i saw so many people that i had not seen since i was little. it was a ‘church reunion’ for me and i loved it. i even ran into my teachers from elementary and don’t worry, i apologized to them for all i had done, i was rotten for them … that i remember. sherri’s family along with alex’s was so welcoming to us and so much fun to work with. it was so great catching up with their families and also getting to know their friends whom were all amazing. after the beautiful ceremony that was full of worship, we headed over to alex’s side of town. coopersville. we stopped downtown to capture some of the newlyweds smiling ear to ear, sooo excited to be married! the reception was held at alex’s church gym which they transformed into a full blown party zone. so many dancers and people so happy for these two. their love for the lord just RADIATES off of them and its addicting. i loved their video of telling their engagement story before the wedding and also the hymnals that were sang before the vows. so refreshing. enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‰ p.s. thanks for being patient as i attempted to take a mini vacation last week.

not sure why … but the guys thought it would be super funny to pretend jon was the groom. he however wasn’t too thrilled. ๐Ÿ˜‰

love these …

lots of fun dancing photos …

<3 love you guys!
