the day couldn’t have gone more perfect. with a wedding planner like sarah’s mom dawn, it was bound to be beautiful and well thought out. sarah and dan got ready at the amway grand hotel in grand rapids where everything was calm and the energy was contagious. when i first arrived to the girls room every single one of them were glowing and excited for the day to finally be here. dan’s room was a little more quite but still very excited and thankful for all the notes they had all over their room telling them things like, do not eat in your tux. lots of do’s and don’ts with a goodie emergency bag. like i said, the planning was precise.
classy and sophisticated is how i remember the whole entire day and night. being able to document the first sight is one of my favorite times of the day. dan was so blown away by sarah and i wish i could have recorded his reaction as he kept repeating how beautiful sarah was and how lucky he was to be her man. it was so cute. we had to take advantage of being in grand rapids and check out some fun locations and buildings to relax and have some fun taking some photographs. the bridal party was a blast and i always love when i walk away with some new girlfriends.
sarah and dan, being the shy caring people they are opted for a smaller romantic wedding and reception in Noto’s wine cellar. it was gorgeous and i was blown away by the attention to detail at this venue. the florist did an amazing job and also did all the event design. stunning. although it was pretty dark down there, the feeling the room gave off was exactly what sarah and dan’s personalities remind me of, elegance. tulips, hydrangeas, peonies, candles everywhere, orchids, linen i would have loved to make into a dress flown in from california … i’m no florist but the creative and decor side of me about had a heart attack. after the ceremony everyone conversated and enjoyed a 5 course meal while tucked away in a romantic ‘nook’ in the cellar. i love it when i make new friends at weddings, which tara and i had no problem doing at this one. [kourtney ;)] the chef’s cooked and explained where the food had come from and how it was grown or made and even cooked in front of us. quite the entertainment. bon appetite, after every presentation of the plate we were about to eat. i even tried some new things from italy so my mother should be proud.
while making their way around every table to thank their guests, you can just see the love between these two. i’m so happy they are together for the rest of their lives, the way it should be. we will be doing a fun ‘just married’ shoot eventually this summer so you will be seeing dan and sarah again. enjoy <3

i was told that sarah is obsessed … or shall i say, loves starbucks. dan wasn’t a coffee drinker before these two got together but sarah, over time … got him hooked as well. what a perfect way to start out your wedding day right after you see your best friend.
this was hilarious. we were shooting and having fun when all of a sudden we had some mood music going on. he ran up in the shot and we had to giggle and go with the flow. thanks dude. [he was actually really good haha]
