irelyn :: one year

its monday morning & i’m about to run out the door and head up north to work. before i do, i wanted to share a few photos of my favorite little girl. can you imagine how much i’ll blog when i have my own children?! haha … last week i blogged about my amazing day bonding with irelyn [my neice]. it was so fun to have a little side kick for the day and i’m thinking about doing it again sometime if tara will let me steal her again.

i laugh to myself when i think about the times when i had to change her for this session and she just looked at me like, what are you doing lady?! its so funny because when you don’t have children of your own, the easiest things can be difficult to you. i didn’t know how to move her arm into the sleeve and my step mom was laughing at me as well. practice makes perfect right?! i’ll figure it out.

this week is going to be amazing. i can tell. its raining [spring is finally here] but i’m ready for a road trip and getting lots done. sometimes you have to just get away and remove yourself from all the distractions. there is a post office up there and internet at some coffee shops so i will still be somewhat ‘connected’ and will be blogging and what not. its just patchy. oh and i should share how amazing my early birthday present was this past saturday night. matthew surprised me with bob seger tickets and i was dying of excitement when he told me. we did laugh to ourselves a few times because we were definitely the youngest in the crowd and well, bob isn’t getting any younger and his dance moves showcase that but you know what, amazing music. i’m just in love with that era of music. a lot of people are surprised that i listen to classic rock mostly but how can you not?! the emotions are so strong and everyone can relate to the music. listening to bob’s music left me with not only thinking back to the good ole days hanging out with my dad in his shop but also so inspired for LIFE. thats what he sings about, life. so refreshing to hear songs that aren’t just about drinking and partying. not to mention, the band utilizes so many amazing artists and instruments. i love bands that use different instruments. definitely check out some of bob seger’s songs if you haven’t. i recommend, mainstreet, turn the page, night moves, against the wind, still the same, and her strut. blast it through the speakers and let your mullet whip in the wind 😉

happy monday!

xoxo

    It was so much fun having you and Irelyn over for another day of pictures! Watching you spend the day with her was a joy. And yes, there were a lot of laughs like watching you change her outfits, and having to point out to you that Irelyn could probably get a better drink out of her sippy cup if you were to take the cap off of it, first :) too funny. You did a great job capturing her personality and all of her cuteness. Love, love the pics.

    I loved all the pics, but my favorites are the black & white ones. I also loved the picture with her and Morgan sitting side by side. Grandma
