bob + shana :: thousand oaks wedding :: part one

where do i start with a couple like this. i love them. shana and i met back in the day when she used to hang out with a friend of a friend and somehow we got connected and loved eachother. fast forward a few years later and this gal gives me a call asking me to photograph her wedding! ummm OF COURSE! after months and months of planning … we kept in touch but i never got the chance to meet the lucky man, bob. he worked out of town … in tennessee. construction worker?! nope. truck driver?! i think not … try CHEF! ummm how are you so skinny shana?! lets just say, it would be bad if i was married to a chef. i would first of all … never cook and second of all … maybe be four hundred pounds. just say’n

so i was super excited to shoot their engagement pictures the thursday before their wedding and finally meet this guy i’ve heard so much about. buuuuutttttt …. being a dog lover just like me, shana’s dog was sick and she made the decision to stay home and take care of him. which i would totally do the same so i completely understood. not going to lie … i love doing engagement sessions because its a great time for me to get to know the couple, especially the groom because usually i’m meeting and talking non stop with the bride but very rarely meet the groom. (i’m also usually by this time like BFF’S with the bride haha). so the fact that i went to this wedding without meeting bob made me a little  nervous. UNTIL … i walked down and met him. o.m.g. i love bob. he is so sweet. and just a good guy. so right away i march back up to shana and am like … yup … lets do this. marry this guy! haha (which i’m sure she wasn’t waiting for my approval … but she definitely got it!)

thank you thank you thank you bob and shana for choosing me as your wedding photographer. i’m so excited and honored that you asked me. i had to break up the blog post because i couldn’t fit the reception on here so that will be coming soon. and thank you for being patient for the preview. life has been a little crazy these days. ~much love~
