It is true, I’m growing a Mullett. But you won’t see me sport’n the hairstyle but instead I’ll be sport’n the baby bump! I’m sooooo thrilled to finally be sharing online with you all that Matthew and I are having a baby in January 2014! I am currently growing an actual ‘Mullett’ inside and I am beyond excited and SO THANKFUL the Lord blessed us with this little miracle. We are constantly reminding ourselves that this really is a miracle and we are not taking it for granted. We have been having so much fun week by week reading about our baby’s progress and also going through the changes physically. The bump has started and I am on cloud nine.
With this exciting news, I am coming back to blogging a bit more after a much needed break and excited to share the recent photographs I’ve captured [so much goodness] and also some bump progress photos eventually, maybe some personal pregnancy stats, and so much more. I have been busy with weddings and as August approaches us, I will be accepting a few more portrait session so please spread the word that I’m back in action and so excited to meet these new faces and create some awesome photographs with awesome people.
How far along: 13 weeks, 1 day
Sleep: First trimester was pretty standard for pregnancy with all the normal symptoms. Not complaining though 😉 I did have to take a nap around 4pm or I wouldn’t make it past 8:30. I was always such a night owl and surprisingly this pregnancy has made me become more of a morning person and finally putting me on a healthy schedule. Now that I’m past that point, naps are no longer needed … maybe once in awhile. I’ve heard second trimester is the best so I’m pumped to be just entering it! I’ve noticed my sleeping isn’t near as good though through the night. With the frequent bathroom trips and also crazy crazy dreams, I find myself awake throughout the night a lot.
Best moment this week: Definitely entering the second trimester was so exciting for me. Now it can slow down. We’ve been lucky enough to hear the heartbeat numerous times and also had a few ultrasounds so this milestone was pretty exciting for me. Well, all of it is exciting! Oh and of course still telling people and blogging the news!
Have you told family and friends: Yes! My mom and her side of the family is thee worst secret keepers so unfortunately they did a lot of the sharing with others but we’ve had our fun in telling friends and some family too! Usually using our heartbeat recording on our phones is a fun way when people realize what they are hearing
Miss anything: Subway! Drinking hasn’t really bothered me yet … I am not a huge drinker anyway but I will say there was a handful of times a beer looked good.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: week 5 was candy which I normally never eat, then it was sausage links haha, now I find myself just craving random weird things every once in awhile. Things I haven’t eaten since my college days. Oh and of course ice cream … lots of ice cream!
Anything making you queasy or sick: coffee, meat doesn’t ever sound good. First trimester was a crap shoot on me feeling good. Random times, who knew when it would hit. But definitely dinner time was the worst. I always had good intentions to make dinner and then Matthew would come home from work and I’d be passed out on the couch and he was on his own. He did survive though … barely.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, a little bump has begun. Apparently my uterus is extremely high. Not a bad thing but I of course am showing a bit faster than some and also will carry high and be bigger I guess [greeeeeat]
Gender prediction: Boy … but we won’t be finding out! We’re so excited to be in the delivery room and be surprised!! And we SERIOUSLY have no preference boy or girl!!!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! You can even ask Matt to verify! 😉
Looking forward to: The bump continuing to grow and look more pregnant. Also Matthew and I read our weekly progress on the baby on the milemarker day of entering a new week and we haven’t done that yet for 13 weeks so I’m excited to do that tonight together!
How is Zoey handling the news: We did tell her right away and she seems to be ignoring the news. But she does help her momma by snuggling and making her feel better when the sickness would hit.
p.s. please excuse the ‘not up to my standard photo’ … it is always so hard for me to get someone else to snap a pic of us two! But this will do 😉
