i love snow. i love the changing seasons. today i sit here and work and the birds are chirping and it makes me smile. i’m ready for this snow to be gone and spring to come here. not to mention i will be welcoming my busy season with open arms. i normally shy away from shooting portrait sessions in the winter because well, we live in michigan and we never know if we’re going to have a blizzard or the snow is gone, here, raining, fog?! runny noses aren’t that attractive either. but every once in awhile i absolutely love doing an engagement session in the winter. all bundled up and snow flakes a fall’n. so stink’n cute.
ashley and dave emailed me awhile back determined to book with me and before we even met, it was official. going into this engagement session blind, i was so excited to meet them and get to know them and hear their story. love stories are my favorite! they met through mutual friends and several months later are engaged. i like a couple that knows what they want and dave and ashley are exactly that. they are so in love, so why waste time?! i can’t say it enough … i love ‘love’ and seeing couples in love is so refreshing and always makes me think of how lucky i am to be so in love with my husband as well.
we met on a very snowy day and we were so excited. snow flakes were falling down like crazy and we did our best to stay warm and get some adorable shots of this adorable couple snuggle’n up and playing with a vintage toboggan. can’t wait for their wedding in june on gun lake and sooooo excited to be their wedding photographer & get to know this amazing couple.
p.s. thanks dave + ashley for the starbucks coffee in between locations to warm me up. best. clients. ever.
p.s.s. make sure to check out my friend abby’s vintage clothing and home decor at FOUND if you’re in holland. super cute stuff.
