when booking new clients, especially young senior girls … i always try to warn them that i am super laid back. ” its like going out with your girlfriends, just having fun and snapping some pictures” is what i always tell them. and thats exactly what it is. just some girls, hitting the town and having fun. i try not to take myself too serious, ya know … life is more fun if you relax and enjoy yourself. i use to get myself so worked up and nervous before a shoot because there is alot of pressure on me but now that i think of it as going out and just having fun and meeting new people, its so much easier and in the end, i think i get better photographs.
i know abbie through family friends. i think we’ve met maybe once or twice though and just a nonchalant “hi”. her dad is actually a sheriff here in holland and we’ve become pretty close with jack over the years 🙂 not to mention we actually ended up buying his dad’s house. i also was lucky enough to also take abbie’s older sister’s senior pictures about 2 years ago! it was a loooong time ago but i will still share the pictures of kaila’s session HERE (don’t be hate’n on my killer free blogspot either haha) i was so excited when abbie asked me and she said she knew she wanted me as soon as she saw kaila’s. that made me so happy.
its always an adventure though, i swear. i can usually pick 2 words to describe each session. (i’m actually laughing to myself because i can already think of 2 for the shoot i did the other day) but this session’s words are : mosquitoes & stupid rude dock guy. yup. it doesn’t happen that often but i got yelled at people! it was terrible. i REALLY wanted to give this guy a piece of my mind because he was so rude the way he confronted us but i acted as professional as i could (haha) and didn’t say anything back and just left …. and then after leaving … told the girls how i felt. they definitely laughed at me (during and probably after they got in their car). and we got some good shots before he yelled at us so ha! we win!
abbie. you’re gorgeous. i’m so excited you asked me to photograph this important and inspiring time in your life. i know you will do amazing with whatever it is that you pursue (especially if its nursing … you’d be the best nurse ever!) and thank you kaila for joining us and making abbie laugh and well … just having fun with us! Enjoy <3
