7 month bump :: baby #2

Oh why hello little blog I’ve oh so neglected the last YEAR! This new journey I’ve been on the past 14 + months of being a mom has been THEE best thing ever. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. Not saying its all been easy by any means! I called my nurses several times the week or two after crying about breastfeeding … whoops. And clearly, my business and more so blog got put on the back burner but I’m completely okay with that. And needed it. I needed to focus all my attention on Levi and my family (including myself). That is what I needed. I can’t wait to share my journey and what I’ve learned thus far with you all.

If you follow me on instagram (which I hope you do! I have been blowing that up over the past year instead of blogging) … then you saw that we are expecting baby Mullett #2 in June! I am still in shock that I’m pregnant. Is that normal? Especially seeing that I’m in the THIRD trimester now! God is sooooo good and I can’t wait to finally break the silence on here soon about our fertility journey. But before we get into all that, I’d love to share just a little bump update that so many of you have been asking for! Thank you so much for those people out there reading this blog and dealing with me going MIA. I have felt a little guilty not blogging this entire pregnancy like I did with Levi but its just different when you are running around after a baby, (I always tell this little bambino #2 that I love him or her just as much even though I haven’t blogged it lol) and not to mention, I wasn’t PHYSICALLY ready for this either so I’m doing my best to keep my body in check during this pregnancy.  I am super super motivated this time to loose the weight faster after this babe is out. I was taking my PRECIOUS little time after Levi and stalling big time and then bam … pregnant again. Again, that story for later.

I’ve been working out about 3 days a week and trying to stay active the other days, but lets be honest … I think running around after a baby (is he considered a toddler already?!?!?! Insert tears here) is enough exercise in my book some days! So hopefully I can keep my baby weight in CHECK by doing all this. Oh if we could only just BUY the body we dreamed of … (sigh).

How far along: 28 weeks, 3 days
Gender prediction: We did NOT find out again what gender this little munchkin is! I know that kills some people but we just LOVED that moment in the delivery room when Levi was born and seriously am so excited to experience that again! At first, I was more nauseous with this baby so I thought maybe we were having a girl. The ultrasound tech did great the whole 20 week ultrasound telling us “baby this” and “baby that” until the end … when she said “if I could just get HIM to turn a little bit I could get a better profile” GASP. We didn’t say anything until after we were walking out and both of us looked at each other saying, did you hear that?! lol … so now I can’t help but think its a boy! Either way, we’ll be so surprised. You know how some people just SAY “him” for every animal or person too?! Maybe that is it … who knows. I really don’t have much of an inkling like I did when I was pregnant with Levi! This baby has me stumped! Eeekkkk.
Sleep:
Normal potty breaks throughout the night, along with some tossing and turning but all in all, pretty good!
Best moment this week:
Watching Levi on his first Easter egg hunt was so much fun yesterday at my dad’s house! Something I’ve always looked forward to because it is one of my best childhood memories is our Easter egg hunts! Also realized that was the first Easter I was ever pregnant for, weird. Feels like I’ve been pregnant for 3 years straight now.
Movement:
Lots of kicks and flips from this baby! Not near as active as Levi was but still pretty darn active I’d say! A couple Saturdays ago, I was nauseous all day because baby was moving NON-stop. Its definitely thee best part though!
Miss anything:
being able to put my shoes on without loosing my breath
Food cravings:
in the beginning, it was alllll junk food. (girl?!?!) Once I got to second trimester it got a little better, and I wouldn’t say there is anything crazy. Mashed potatoes and MAYBE some Easter eggs because they’re sitting out on my counter … BAD IDEA.
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Feeling great! Just that one day of crazy movement made me queasy but feeling great! Second trimester I was a little disappointed when my energy never came back but once I started taking some iron pills, it got a little better!
Labor signs: No, lots of braxton hicks. This time a lot earlier which I’ve heard/read that is normal your second time. My body is going to be so mad at me once it feels its first contraction seeing that I just put it through that not too long ago.
Belly button in or out: Still blown out from the last pregnancy! I actually have a hernia there. Doctor suggested not to fix it until I was done having kids. Glad I listened because its back to being blown out again! Levi still likes to ‘beep’ it though!
Wedding rings on or off: STUCK on
Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy! Busy running around and playing with a one year old so I don’t have time to feel as anxious this time around. But when I sit down and think about having another baby to care for in a few months … I get a wee bit nervous. Totally normal right?!?!
Looking forward to:
Here is the other huge reason why I’ve been MIA lately. We’re hoping to move soon! So I’ve been busy trying to get odds and ends done around here so that AFTER baby comes we can move as easy and smooth as it can go … which I know will be hell no matter what. We won’t be able to move before baby, and our house is pretty small so we don’t have a separate bedroom for this baby. Hence the push to move. So unforuntaly I don’t get to ‘nest’ as much this time around. But I’m very excited to continue to get our house buttoned up so we can sell, we’re looking at houses right now trying to find the right one for us and this new family of 4 (+zoey) so that is very exciting! Lots of work to do yet though! I’ve been working hard during nap time everyday! Also looking forward to DECIDING ON SOME NAMES! We’re so clueless its not even funny. Like I’m starting to freak out. We chatted about it in bed last night until Matt stopped answering my questions (he falls asleep in 2 seconds) … so I’ll pick up where I left off tonight 😉 and hopefully get it narrowed down! We went to the hospital with 2 names for each gender last time. A favorite for each sex and then a back up in case that one didn’t seem suiting.
How is Zoey handling the news:
Oh dear. Well …. first and foremost … how did she do with Levi?! Great! I think she was waiting for her Aunty Tara to come pick him up for a few weeks but I think she finally figured out he’s here to stay and she kind of likes him now. You know she’s desperate for attention though when she brings him a ball to throw. Its so cute. She is such an awesome dog. I am so thankful for that as well. I’m sure when we bring baby #2 home she’s going to look at us like, “REALLY PEOPLE??!?!! COME ON!!!” haha

So there it is. The bump update. A little lengthy this time around but had to catch you all up! So much to discuss! Would love to read any comments about how your second pregnancy went?! And or suggestions on how to get ready for second baby! I’m not sure what to do to “get ready” because everything is pretty much still out. Did some of you mamas feel like you totally forgot how to do everything for a newborn though?! I feel like once we move onto the next stage with Levi, I erase all that info and learning to go to the next stage in life. I hope it just comes back to me! Fingers crossed!

Ohemgee! I'm so excited you are blogging, I've missed you! Congratulations on baby #2, that is so exciting! Jude just turned one and I'm just now coming around to the idea if having a second! But hopefully sooner than later, I feel like I'm getting old! ;)
