I don’t know why but the time between this post and the last one seems like forever ago! I am going to try to blog the last few weeks separately now seeing that we’re down to the wire folks!!! T minus two and a half weeks! Insane! I can’t believe i’m here … in the home stretch. Where oh where does time go? I made sure to fill out the ‘questions’ when I am that week so that it is accurate. But writing this as I post the whole post. I was hoping to blog some ‘unseen’ bump photos but I haven’t received my maternity photos back yet so these will have to do. Which I’m in love with by the way. So thankful for the weather that day because winter weather is so hard and such a crap shoot. I had my friend Tifani take the photos for us. Tifani was newer to the industry a year or two ago and after I shot her engagement photos we became friends and she began second shooting for me the following year. Now that her business is taking off, I actually second shot for her this past year in September due to slowing down while I was pregnant (due to the unknowns of pregnancy) and I just love working with this girl either way. She did such a great job and Matthew and I had so much fun with her. Thankful to have her as a friend. So I will definitely share my favorites on the blog once I receive them but until then here are a few I picked off her blog and of course you can go to her blog to see her favorites from our session.

Still walking in the nursery often and sniffing everything. I really don’t know if ‘she knows’ though like some people say dogs do … I think she might be ignoring the truth

Week 37 so far as been good to me. Although I definitely feel FULL TERM. The waddle is in full swing, along with the lovely aches and pains that come towards the end. We had our birthing class today and it was actually a lot of fun. DORK. I know, but I highly recommend it. I have actually been in the delivery room twice now for my mom with my little brother and then of course my little sister Brittany when she had her daughter Mila about a year and a half ago. So I kind of know what to expect … but now that I’m in the hot seat … It was still nice to go and ask questions from the other end. I did it more so for Matthew because he kept saying how he had no idea what to expect on delivery day and after one of his friends told him it was so helpful, I signed us up. Not to mention, I feel like it is one of those ‘experiences’ you just need to experience and you’re only pregnant for the first time ONCE, so I’m so glad we did it and highly recommend it to those who are expecting their first. We both enjoyed it and learned a lot. Of course I was the ‘closest’ to the due date in the class, which I figured. It was the one date we could make work with our schedules. I still think I’m going to go late, or atleast hoping I make it to about 40 weeks. I want this baby to cook as long as he or she wants or needs. I believe in letting them come when they are ready. BUT the instructor of the class today, who is a labor and delivery nurse … commented at the end of the day at how low I looked. WHICH, was weird because when we were getting ready this morning I told Matthew I felt like I had dropped. My belly just looked different from last night. So now I’m like holy poo, we really could have this baby any day now! Ahhhh. Again, hoping to make it a few more weeks, and I know dropping of the bump can happen slowly and doesn’t mean anything but I really didn’t think I would drop until I was officially in labor. I’m just going off my family, mom, and sisters who all had terrible long 30 hour labor, back labor, no signs prior, water didn’t break … nada, nothin. But maybe I’m different. We shall see. Only time will tell.

How far along: 37 weeks, 3 days
Sleep:
Not so good anymore. Waking up frequently just uncomfortable and also so swollen lately, its hard to breath at night just with my nasal passage being so swollen. Last night was no good. But they say it is your body’s way of preparing you for your sleepless nights when baby arrives. Oh lovely.
Best moment this week:
We were up at the cabin a few days after Christmas and it was so fun seeing my northern Michigan friends/snowmobiling buddies. The bump seriously got so much attention, it was so much fun. Most of them do not have babies in their family yet and its been years since they had theirs so their eyes would light up when baby Mullett kicked around. Or more so rolls around at this point. We even got a pair of minnetonka’s from our friend who makes them. Can’t wait to dress him or her up in those. The drive up there though … ugh. I told Matt, yup … this was our last hurrah, so he made sure to put some miles on his sled while I stayed back and did nesting activities. Like crocheting of course … and reading. Yeah, shit got crazy.
Movement:
Rolls and lots of stretching. I get a butt or back pressing on one side of the belly with feetsies on the other side.
Miss anything:
Being able to wear more than one pair of boots. Which by the way is the ugliest pair I own but the only thing that fits my poor swollen feet/cankles. Which are pretty funny looking, they make me laugh so hard.
Food cravings:
Still rootbeer
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Anything making you queasy or sick:
No
Have you started to show yet:
Yes
Gender prediction: Sticking with my boy guess but will say we’ve been hearing a LOT of girl guesses lately! It was always boy and now I’m starting to think … hey … I guess it could be a girl haha. I always just figured it is a boy but I guess I can’t rule out a girl. We honestly DO NOT CARE. I would love to have both eventually someday so I would be overjoyed with either. But sticking with the fact that this little human being is a little man.
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Out
Wedding rings on or off: On … stuck on … because I’m retaining a lot of water these days.
Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy/Emotional/Anxious/Nervous/Excited … whoa. Does that make sense? Because my emotions don’t usually make sense these days.
Looking forward to:
I am looking forward to feeling ‘ready’ … or as ready as I’ll ever feel. I know we have everything we NEED for baby but there are still a few things I would love to cross of my to do list. Including some work items and engagement sessions I’m really hoping to sneak in before babies arrival so I can enjoy a good maternity leave. It is so nice being self employed but then again, I can see how it is going to be hard to STICK to a maternity leave when I can easily get on my computer and book stuff quick. But I definitely want to soak it up. I plan to post my maternity plan and after baby post soon. But I am shooting weddings still of course so make sure to spread the word ;) Just not as many as usual but always planned on being a workin mama a little bit ;)
How is Zoey handling the news:
Zoey decided to get sick this week with some sort of cold or cough. She isn’t around too many other dogs but does have a few pals here and there so who knows. But she is doing much better now. Of course I freaked out and rushed her to the vet thinking it was cancer … preggo problems. The vet thinks I’m cray cray … oh well.
