A snowy weekend up north of course meant some sweater pictures in the snow with the bump. Even though it is hard to see the arch in my back and my actual belly size … these are the bump photos I always wanted. Northern Michigan with tons of snow and my babe in my belly. We of course had Christmas parties over the weekend but managed to sneak up north so Matthew could ride his sled for a few days. The bump and I had to stay at the cabin of course but we were okay with it. Stayed busy reading and crocheting … oh how my life has changed over the past several months. Gotta love it.
I’m still smiling and happy as ever, of course this is the harder stage of pregnancy and I’m definitely feeling the aches and pains [and swollen-ness] but again … with a smile on my face. Week 34 treated me good, middle of the night bathroom breaks are becoming pretty difficult to get out of bed but with a few grunts … I somehow roll out of bed. And then use Matthew’s arm [while he is dead asleep] to pull myself over when switching sides. It is actually quite funny.
How far along: 34 weeks, 4 days [when I filled this section out]
Sleep: Bathroom breaks are a bit harder these days but other than that great. I have some pinched nerves that are not concerning but just painful, especially in the mornings/potty breaks
Best moment this week: Picking up our baby carrier we received as a gift from Matthew’s work and then we also returned some duplicate gifts we had gotten at showers and purchased the last few things needed before baby! It was pretty exciting. And of course a fun date night together with a yummy dinner. Also loved finalllly going up north for a weekend away with Matt and enjoying the fresh air!
Movement: Still tons and tons of crazy movement. I have thee most insane movement on video, unfortunately it is a super dark video because I knew if I moved at all to turn on the light, he or she would stop so I didn’t worry about it. Hence the reason I didn’t post it on instagram because seriously, it is insane. When I show family and friends they can’t believe it.
Miss anything: Being able to put my shoes/boots on without getting winded.
Food cravings: Root Beer … always loved it but have been totally craving it a lot lately. I have been trying not to eat a lot lately but I will say I am never satisfied lately after eating. I always feel like there is SOMETHING i really want but I can’t figure it out but I think it is just a weird pregnant thing so trying to ignore it and drink more water. I still suck at drinking water. UGH.
Maternity Clothes: Yes! Maternity jeans and leggings are the shiznit. Yoga pants are a regular these days too.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Some of these braxton hicks make me feel yucky for a few minutes but then back to normal, so nothing bad at all
Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah, I think I scare people sometime in public. I watch their eyes start at my face and then go to the belly and their eyes kind of light up … it is so funny. I did have a guy that was going to hit on me and then saw my belly and quickly changed his words haha. It was hilarious. It started with ‘Daaaamnnn’ and then quickly changed to ‘holy crap girl, you about to pop’. Wow. Yeah … keep walkin.
Gender prediction: Boy … Matt is starting to think we may have a girl now because everyone tells us a boy. I’m sticking with my boy guess but I will say we’ve heard a few girl guesses this past week which we haven’t heard much through this pregnancy. Oh and I love how everyone says they could never wait to find out because they are planners. You’re looking at the biggest freak of a planner around … but I know that moment will be so special and I can’t wait. I am so proud of us for not finding out and being patient. Especially proud of Matthew who at first wasn’t convinced but now is soooo happy and thankful we waited. He barely can contain his excitement to meet this little babe!
Labor signs: No, just lots of braxton hicks
Belly button in or out: bloooooown out
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy/emotional … doesn’t take much to make me cry these days. My sister had a bad day and there I go …
Looking forward to: Seeing family at Christmas parties has been so much fun the past few weeks, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing some friends over the holidays [especially my BFF that is coming in from Texas this week and we'll be hanging out alllll day Friday!!!! ahhhhhh] and celebrating Christmas with a baby on the way. We’re also getting down to the ‘official’ name options which is sooo exciting and making me feel somewhat ready. It is so hard picking the perfect name. I feel like the names I always loved growing up have changed a lot once I actually got pregnant. And I want Matthew to love it just as much as me, so we’re working together super hard.
How is Zoey handling the news: I ended up moving the stuffed animals and squeaky toys in the crib for now so miss Zo Zo doesn’t continue to steal. She sometimes just wonders in the nursery and sniffs around … she probably wonders what the heck all this stuff is for. We already have a plan of how we’ll introduce Zoey to baby M though. I’m so excited for that moment.
Sometimes I get all jealous of the fact that my sisters have someone to just take photos for them and I have to ask people that don’t really know how, so I have to …. try to look cute, change the settings, oh and make sure they find a ‘good angle’ on this pregnancy body. Yeah, quite the task haha. Matthew actually snapped these photos of me up north and I was so proud of him. Some photographers have a husband that is creative like them, but I found me a manly man. Not saying creative men aren’t ‘manly’ but more so saying … he just tends to stick to cars, motorsports, and sports. Which is fine, love the man to death … but still was super impressed when he took these. And I think he may have had fun while doing it too. Just sayin.
He is seriously my rock, especially through this pregnancy and the ups and downs your body goes through. He tells me everyday I look beautiful even with the cankles and fuller face haha. I am soooooo thankful to have him and his support. Thank you God for him!
How far along: 35 weeks, 3 days
Sleep: Ehh, not the best lately but thankfully I have a lighter schedule this time of year to sleep in or nap during the day if need be. Although, I am not a napper!
Best moment this week: Visiting our friends Eric and Erika in the hospital and meeting their little baby boy Jackson. We’re soooo happy for them and of course it got us so excited to meet our babe in about a month! So crazy! Matt just kept saying the whole way home, “I can’t believe we’re going to have one of those in our arms in a month!” AND THEN, my best friend since 7th grade came and visited me yesterday all day with her little baby boy Gavin! She moved to Texas a couple years ago and I am always missing having my best friend in town close to me. But it was so much fun showing her the nursery and her finally being able to see the bump in person and feel the baby kick and hiccup.
Movement: Still lots and lots of movement! Definitely slowed down a LITTLE the past few weeks due to running out of room I believe. Hiccups all the time!
Miss anything: I’m excited to get my energy back after baby and not get so easily exhausted
Food cravings: Still root beer, and I never feel satisfied after I get done eating … I always feel like there is a certain SOMETHING I want really bad but who knows what that is.
Maternity Clothes: Yes! Jeans, leggings, bella bands, a few other staple pieces that I mix with my regular warddrobe. Sweaters are awesome this time of year but even my best friend who visited from Texas yesterday said I look sooo much smaller in person than I do in these pics, which I think is due to the sweaters and not being able to see the arch in my back. Maybe the next pics, I’ll wear something tighter so it is easier to see.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Uh yeah. Strangers ask me all day long my due date so I think its safe to say, people know I’m pregnant. I always tell Matt it is so funny because when I’m in public people will look at my face and then right at my belly and he finally saw it yesterday at the mall. He was like yup, I’ve seen like 7 people do it to you in the last minute … it is too funny.
Gender prediction: Boy! Although we have a lot of girl guesses being thrown at us these past few weeks!
Labor signs: No, just lots of braxton hicks … body getting ready. I do feel pressure too but nothing bad or out of the ordinary.
Belly button in or out: Out
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy … I wasn’t too emotional this week! I get easily overwhelmed when I think of the few things that have to be done before baby … there seriously is pretty much nothing but it still makes me anxious! haha
Looking forward to: Celebrating Christmas Day with a bump!!!!!
How is Zoey handling the news: We have babies and kids over all the time and Zoey is so great with them, but she does get that look on her face like OH GREAAAT. So I’m pretty sure when we walk in the door with baby in hand … she is going to look at us and think, “you idiots.” haha
Are you guys as excited as I am to be back shooting weddings and having more sessions to blog. Don’t get me wrong, I am so thankful for this slower time in my life and being able to enjoy this pregnancy and not be so slammed busy but I am soooo excited to be back at it next spring/summer too! I’ve been booking lots of weddings now that engagement season is here so be sure to spread the word! Mama needs to keep doing what she loves and I’m so excited to be taking a lighter load next year but weddings that fit my style and are unique and just fun loving good people. Email me if you want to chat about your wedding!
p.s. because so many people asked on instagram, the sweater is from Forever 21 last year :/ … and boy do I love me some sweaters this time of year! Even if they tend to make me look wider, they are just way to comfy to pass up and allow the bump some breathing room ;)
