Happy 24 week of pregnancy to me! The past few weeks I have been consistently been feeling good and pretty much the same. So thankful to be having a great pregnancy … like seriously, I do not take it for granted! I will say, taking these photos is becoming a little bit harder and harder. So we’ll see how long it lasts. I would really like to make it the whole 40 weeks doing them … but I want to make sure I’m having fun with it and it is not a chore. I started doing these posts because I actually followed a girl while she did them throughout her whole pregnancy even when I wasn’t pregnant and they were so fun. She of course did the chalkboard idea [she was the original on that one] and then I followed a fashion blogger who always had fun outfits, different poses, and locations for each post. I’m no fashionista but I thought how fun to kind of mesh those two ideas with a bit of ‘photography’ mixed in. My thang. Although … not as much of my sisters thang but she always does a great job! Thanks Brit! I think the bump needs to be glorified a little bit more. And not to mention, I just think pregnancy is such a beautiful thing and not to be taken lightly. No matter what your bump size is and how you carry. I’m learning that more and more … every woman carries SO different. Kinda fun to see.
My bump is pretty big these days. Kinda scary to think I have 16 weeks to go. But I want this babe to grow as big and healthy! So if eventually I have to switch over to moo-moo’s and men’s sweatpants, so be it. I was smiling ear to ear last week at our doctor’s appointment when the nurse told me I weighed the same as the last appointment which was 4 weeks prior! I definitely can see the face is getting a little ‘thicker’ these days along with a few other body parts but I feel as though I’m keeping my weight gain in check. I hope to continue to and have been trying to walk regularly in order to do that. But thinking I might need to up that. Maybe start doing a little more things like light weight training for the legs and arms. Any recommendations from you ladies of ways to ‘workout’ or keep fit during pregnancy? Now that I have some energy, I should really do more! While it lasts …
How far along: 24 weeks, 3 days
Best moment this week: Two things this week, so I have to say … one of my life dreams which is a very detailed one has come true. I always dreamt that someday I would lay in bed on my side with my husband laying behind me feeling our baby kick together. My hand on his. I just loooooove doing that and usually it is at like 6:30am and even though Matt and I are not morning people, we wake up happy because of it. Such a special moment I will cherish forever. I’ve also gotten the tally up on how many family members and friends have felt kicks! Along with Matthew of course, my mom, Tara, Brittany, Matt’s brother Aaron, Kasha, Jenny, Erika, and Ashley L. I think that is everyone so far. And by the way … I’m one of those people that does not mind the belly touching, at all.
Movement: Tons of movement! I’ve noticed its one day is insane crazy baby, and the next is usually a bit more mellow.
Miss anything: I can’t believe I’m going to say this but … running. I felt like running the other day in this awesome perfect weather but because I didn’t start out the pregnancy doing it … I’m going to refrain from it until after. And then I’m sure I’ll complain about it.
Food cravings: I really don’t have any specific weird cravings! All I can say is when I do all of a sudden think of something that sounds good … I want it and I want it NOW. But nothing that I never liked before. ALWAYS been obsessed with pickles and ice cream.
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender prediction: I’m guessing its a boy! But would be soooo happy with either!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Out/Flat
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Starting to take apart my office and set up the nursery! Its going to be bittersweet to see my office disappear though, I do love this space. But super excited to see the nursery come together and the nights/days of working on it will be so fun and exciting! We’re going to start sometime this month and hope to have the room completed BY end of November before the holiday madness starts.
How is Zoey handling the news: You all didn’t think I was going to forget to include Zoey in some bump pics did you?!?! She is happy as can be … but still clueless. Today we had all nieces over and she is soooo great with children but does act like she wishes she could jump off a bridge sometimes. Maybe when its Mila trying to make her accept one of the eighty balls and toys she brought to her. Or perhaps when Isla starts crying and then Mila does too … scary. We went for two walks this past week with strollers though and she does sooo great with that. So we’ve got that down to a T.
Thinking I might blog my inspirations for the nursery before it is all done and together, and maybe a few things I’m eye balling to register for. We haven’t done that yet either … no rush. Would anyone be interested in seeing that?! I’m definitely going to take Matthew to register but more so just to get an idea of what he likes and what not. I plan to take the coolest most HIP mom I know right now which is my sister Tara ;) … so she can tell me the ins and outs of all the fun gadgets they have now-a-days and what I would actually use or not. So thankful to have sisters who have babies before me so they can help me and always make me feel better when I’m feeling huge, overwhelmed, scared … lost … etc etc.
p.s. I hate wearing sock buns. I seriously had NO CLEARANCE when getting in my car … and while driving. I had to like duck down the whole entire time. This thing is just massive with thick hair. And heavy. Just sayin …
