21 weeks was an exciting week for Matthew and I. We had our ultrasound and got to see our baby! It had been awhile so to see something that actually looks like a baby now, was so surreal. We both were smiling ear to ear and were totally that cute couple that kissed on the way out the hospital while we were walking but seriously, that is just how happy and excited we are. The baby had his/her arm up by it’s head which looked exactllly like his or her daddy. So we thought that was pretty funny. As I’ve mentioned, we are NOT finding out the gender of the baby, so I was more so just looking forward to seeing the baby and making sure everything is all good and healthy. So not going to lie, I was a bit nervous for the appointment. It could be life changing you know. So I’m so thankful that we got awesome news that the baby looks great and healthy and is right on track.
The whole morning prior to the ultrasound I was trying so hard to stay away from sugars and anything that might wake this baby up and make it wiggly. Not sure if that would have even done anything but sure enough … the one time I feel it moving like crazy that time of day is THAT specific day. Of course our child is a turd already and moving around so the ultrasound tech had the hardest time getting awesome photos for us, but we’re so thankful she kept trying and did manage to get us some fun photos. And of course do all her measuring she needed to do. Made me giggle though. I totally felt like that mom that dropped their kid off at the babysitter and it was super naughty.
How far along: 21 weeks, 2 days
Sleep: Not the best this week, really wish I could shut my mind off when it is bed time!
Best moment this week: Definitely the ultrasound and I just love watching my husband’s reaction and seeing his smile makes me smile even bigger. I told him for the longest time I prayed and dreamed of the day I would someday be going to ‘our’ ultrasound. It was so surreal.
Movement: Tons of movements and kicks this week. Its becoming so much more active and a crazy baba. It even managed to kick Matthew in the face when he was laying his head on my tummy. Made us laugh so hard.
Miss anything: Fitting into my jeans, which is to be expected. But maxi dresses aren’t going to cut it much longer … I am however looking forward to some fall weather and boots!
Food cravings: Cocoa pebbles … who knew
Maternity Clothes: Leggings, tanks, and I bought a few fall shirts I haven’t worn yet. Some hand me downs from Brittany. Including this black maxi dress I made her buy when she was pregnant from Target. Score.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yes! I feel like I grew a little bit from last week. I love the bump’s size right now.
Gender prediction: Boy, especially after seeing the babe on the ultrasound screen. We will both be so surprised if a little girl comes out!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: Out, and starting to be noticeable through my shirts. just the top line of my belly button if that makes sense.
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Rocking some fall clothes and boots with the bump!
How is Zoey handling the news: Well … I maaaayyyy have had another freak attack about Zoey getting old and dying some day so earlier this week, the day after the attack … I headed to the pet store and came home with tons and tons of toys, bones, treats, etc. Matt seriously just starred at me with huge eyes and I just laughed and said, that is what happens when her preggo mom has a freak attack the night before. So lets just say, Zoey is pretttty happy and content with her new toys and her bone she is currently chowing down on.
I still can’t believe how many sessions and fun things I have to share on the blog. I swear the weeks just fly by faster and faster. The fact that I’m over half way with this pregnancy blows my mind! I remember when I found out and thought it would never come fast enough. I was wrong. Thank you Brittany for snapping these photos. I’m running out of fun outfits so I’ll have to work on something for next week. Maxi dresses aren’t going to last much longer in this colder weather … which I’m loving! Happy weekend! xoxo, Leah
