20 week bump

I can’t even believe I’m HALFWAY already!!! I swear my engagement and every other exciting thing in my life never went by this fast. It makes me kind of sad but then again, I am so excited to be holding this baby in my arms. But I would still prefer that it slows down a bit. Something SOOOO exciting happened this week, but I’ll share that below.

You know the saying, ‘that every little girl dreams of her wedding day?’ Well, to be honest … that wasn’t ever me. Don’t get me wrong, I was so happy on my wedding day and it was one of thee best days of my life … but I actually always dreamed of being pregnant someday. I always thought it was so amazing and was excited to share those intimate moments with my husband. Even at a young age I thought pregnancy was amazing and just loved when I saw a cute lady with a bump. Things haven’t changed much. Definitely didn’t want to rush it into my life before Matthew and I were ready and I’m so thankful for that, it really is the perfect timing for us both. God sure does know what he is doing.

Last week’s post I mentioned that we had ordered our crib and rocker but we ended up having to pick up our crib from the store because that is where we had it shipped. So it was a fun night going and picking that up together. I mean it’s just in a big cardboard box but still … to say to Matt, lets go pick up our crib for a baby was something I always looked forward to. We’re still debating on when to set up the nursery due to the fact that I will be loosing my lovely office. Thinking we might wait until November to put everything up and together but then again, I want to put this crib together NOW! So who knows. Its been calling my name though from the box.

How far along: 20 weeks, 2 days
Sleep:
Great!
Best moment this week:
When Matthew felt his first kick!!! Oh I was so excited! His patience isn’t the best [something we’ll continue to work on hard before January] so every time I would feel kicks and big somersaults I would have him put his hand on the belly and within a minute, he would say nope, i can’t feel anything. The other night the baby was seriously freaking out in there … not sure what he/she was doing but I grabbed Matt’s hand and he didn’t look convinced that he would feel anything … and then I saw his face light up! We both were smiling soooo big and he got pretty excited! It was a big kick too. Probably one of thee most memorable moments of my pregnancy so far.
Movement:
Lots and lots of kicks and somersaults! He or she is definitely utilizing all the space they have in there right now! And I love it! Active times seem to be 9-10am and 6-7pm.
Miss anything:
Not a thing!
Food cravings:
My sister Brittany was nice enough to ‘invite’ me … or share with me that she was going to Outback for dinner the other night. I tried to do some convincing to Matthew at the last minute but we had dinner already being made so I lost that war. Next week I willllll fill that craving though!
Maternity Clothes: Leggings, some long tanks, and a few tops I bought recently but seriously they don’t look maternity at all! I was so impressed! But they are all fall shirts so I’ll have to wait to bust those bad boys out for a bit. Bring on the colder weather!!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope
Have you started to show yet:
Yes! I popped as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I feel as though I haven’t grown barely at all in the past few weeks. Matthew says I have so I guess I’ll listen to him. Hard to tell when it is your own body I guess, but I swear I shrunk this week!
Gender prediction: Boy … only reason why I think a girl is because my hair is falling out. In clumps. Yeah. Sad. Fortunately I have a lot to spare … but still, makes me so sad.
Labor signs:
No
Belly button in or out:
Out! Its officially out. Or more so flat. I kind of had an outie already so it didn’t take much. But now that my uterus is to my belly button, definitely is flat. And I like the look of it better than my normal one to be honest!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time:
As Phil would say from Duck Dynasty … HAPPY HAPPY!
Looking forward to:
Our ultrasound next week at the hospital! We weren’t in a rush to get it done at 18 weeks because we’re not finding out the gender but I’m so excited to see the babe and make sure everything is going good. Of course I’m a little nervous for it too, and also because I’m scared the ultrasound tech will slip and tell us the sex or we’ll clearly be able to see it. It means so much to me to not know. So maybe I’ll shut my eyes through some of it lol. When the legs are being measured.
How is Zoey handling the news:
She was HAPPY HAPPY too this week and full of energy. She is such a great dog and for all my fellow dog lovers out there, I am going to do my very best to make sure she doesn’t feel left out once baby comes. Obviously things will change, but no matter what she was my first child and means the world to me. Its been me, Matt, and Zoey for the past six years living here together and I would never ditch her. She knows that ๐Ÿ˜‰ She had a vet appointment this week and she is super healthy so momma is happy happy even more!

Thank you to my little sister Brittany for rocking the camera lately and taking the time to snap these photos. We actually snapped these photos at my grandfather’s old farm, so the banner image of the ‘city farm’ barn is his! If any of your recognize it ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope everyone has a great weekend! xoxo, Leah
