I had all the best intentions to take a super cute photo while surrounded by BEAUUUUTIFUL settings this past week while on our roadtrip vacation [packed a cute dress and all] but let me tell you … apparently “jeep’n it” isn’t to be taken lightly. My hair was a disaster the whole entire trip. I mean, I’m not that type of girl to say no to the top being off the jeep while riding through the mountains in West Virginia and North Carolina so I just went with it but a fun photo just didn’t happen. So remember that when you’re looking at this pic and asking yourself, “what the hell happened to this girl’s hair? Was she in a wind storm??” … YES, yes I was.
I can’t wait to share more about our vacation soon! We’re working on getting our house back together and unpacked and cleaning like crazy so I just wanted to share with you the bump update that couldn’t happen this past Friday. We visited Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina and quickly snapped this photo of me with my 17 week bump on top of the cliff, a mile above sea level. Its pretty insanely beautiful up there and also insane they let people just climb these rocks and walk around. Kids were everywhere and it made me extremely nervous. I think the only time my child will be on top of the mountain is in the photo below. Safe in my belly. Maybe after they turn 18 … maybe.
I do have to say, the belly looks waaaayyyy bigger here than it actually is. I think it is because you can’t see my arched back or it’s the angle so don’t be fooled, I’m not seven months pregnant or carrying twins … atleast I don’t think so! Oh dear! ;) Doctor says I’m right on track so I think I’m in the clear!
How far along: 17 weeks, 5 days
Sleep: Awesome, down to about one potty break a night now
Best moment this week: I may have bought one of those heart monitors ;) so that is always fun. Also going on vacation while being pregnant was fun and knowing it was our last big vacay before baby was a little exciting. We also had fun on our road trip tossing name ideas to one another. Which by the way, we aren’t getting far with that. Due to Matt shutting down all my ideas.
Miss anything: While on vacation, we did end up going on some pretty rough roads in the jeep and I missed off-roading and not having to worry about every huge bump. I used to laugh, now I make a weird screeching noise and it doesn’t feel too good on the bladder either.
Movement: Not yet! Any day now I would guess!??
Food cravings: Friday’s sesame jack chicken strips … Jenny and I will be going there at some point this week. Along with some fair food which starts today so I’m pretty pumped about that! Baby is too … I already told him/her about the elephant ears.
Maternity Clothes: Bella band is a fave, along with maternity leggings that come up to your boobs. Once again, all leggings should come up to your boobs. [ Matt loooooves that about the leggings ;) ]
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really this week, feeling great lately which is sooooo nice!
Have you started to show yet: Yes! I popped right away [uterus is super high] but I feel as though I’ve remained the same size lately but the belly is getting much harder and I can totally feel where my uterus is. What all the stuff is above the belly button … I have no clue. Organs? haha
Gender prediction: First is was a boy, now I’m thinking girl … its so exciting to constantly be guessing and thinking about it! I’m so excited for the big surprise in January because we are NOT finding out!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy … I was a weeee bit easily irritated on the trip when it came to dumb little things testing me but I think that was due to driving for hours and hours and I wasn’t so comfortable. When a text message wouldn’t go through, I about lost it. Then once I “woosa’d” … we were all good. Matt just laughs at me. So that always helps.
Looking forward to: Feeling some movement in there! I can tell its moving around when I listen to the heartbeat on my new heart monitor … so keep wiggling baby! Mama wants to feel you so it feels more real!
How is Zoey handling the news: This week Zoey has been protesting the idea of a new brother or sister by constantly throwing up and being super high maintenance. Can’t she just do back flips or something else? Thank goodness for a hook up with carpet cleaners and my pet cleaner. Best. Christmas. Gift. Ever. Hoping this way of getting our attention ends soon. She is such a drama queen.
